We started prepolymer production with a capacity of 6500 tons in 2017

The year 2017 marked a pivotal transformation for Pluskim with the launch of prepolymer production at an annual capacity of 6,500 tons. This decision was not only a technical upgrade, but also a strategic step toward becoming a more comprehensive and solution-oriented system house in the polyurethane industry.

Prepolymers, which serve as the foundation of advanced polyurethane systems, are widely used in footwear soles, adhesives, automotive interiors, flexible foams, insulation materials and various industrial applications. With the start of prepolymer production, Pluskim strengthened its ability to offer tailor-made formulations, meeting the specific requirements of different sectors with higher precision and consistency.

This investment enabled the company to move beyond being a raw material supplier and instead position itself as a technology-driven manufacturer. Through its modern laboratory infrastructure and R&D expertise, Pluskim began developing custom-designed prepolymers that offer improved mechanical strength, superior bonding capabilities, controlled reactivity and better processing performance for its customers.

In addition to increasing production capacity, this milestone brought operational benefits such as faster lead times, enhanced quality control and stronger global competitiveness. It also supported Pluskim’s export operations, allowing the company to build long-term partnerships with international manufacturers.

Despite this growth, Pluskim remained committed to its guiding principles of sustainability, safety, and ethical chemistry. All production processes were aligned with environmental standards, focusing on resource efficiency, emission reduction and responsible chemical management.

The introduction of prepolymer manufacturing also opened the door to new innovations, particularly in moisture-curing systems, high-performance adhesives, elastomeric coatings and solvent-free polyurethane technologies. These developments not only improved product diversity but also reinforced Pluskim’s brand promise: “Chemistry for Good” — using chemistry to create value for industries and everyday life.

Today, the 2017 prepolymer initiative continues to serve as one of the main foundations of Pluskim’s industrial progress. The 6,500 tons per year production capacity represents more than just an increase in volume; it symbolizes innovation, reliability and a forward-looking vision in the global polyurethane market.
