In addition to the production of polyester polyol in the polyurethane industry, it can be used as an antifreeze in paints and aqueous systems. It is mainly used in the polyester, polyurethane and plasticizer industries. It is also used as a solvent in nitrocellulose resin, paint, oil and other organic compounds. It is used as a solvent for casein, gelatin, dextrin, some phenol-formaldehyde resins, alkyd resins and dyestuffs.
