Istanbul Technical University has long been a meeting point for engineering excellence, innovation, and industry collaboration. At the ITU Career Summit, this mission came to life once again under the powerful theme “The Future Is in Their Hands.” Pluskim was proud to take part in this inspiring event, connecting directly with students who will shape tomorrow’s technologies and industries.
Bridging industry and academia
The ITU Career Summit is more than a traditional career fair. It is a platform where students, academics, and industry professionals meet to exchange knowledge, expectations, and real-world experience. For Pluskim, participation meant sharing not only who we are as a polyurethane raw materials manufacturer, but also how material science plays a critical role in sustainability, performance, and innovation across industries.
At our stand, students had the opportunity to learn how polyurethane and polyurea technologies are applied in construction, insulation, automotive, footwear, adhesives, coatings, and many other sectors. These conversations helped translate theoretical knowledge into tangible industrial use cases.
Inspiring future engineers
The summit theme, “The Future Is in Their Hands,” resonated strongly with our approach. Today’s engineering students will be responsible for developing safer, more efficient, and more sustainable materials. During the event, we emphasized how R&D, quality control, and compliance with international standards shape the future of manufacturing.
Students were especially curious about:
-
Career paths in chemical and materials engineering
-
The role of R&D in polyurethane product development
-
Sustainability, recycling, and environmentally responsible raw materials
-
Internship and early-career opportunities within the industry
These discussions reinforced how important it is for companies to be visible, accessible, and transparent to young talent.
Sharing real-world experience
One of the most valuable aspects of the ITU Career Summit was the opportunity to share real production and project experiences. By explaining how customer-specific polyurethane solutions are developed—from laboratory testing to full-scale application—we helped students understand the lifecycle of an industrial product.
We also highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary skills: communication, problem-solving, and adaptability are just as critical as technical knowledge in today’s engineering roles.
A two-way learning experience
While the summit offered students insight into Pluskim and the polyurethane industry, it also gave us a fresh perspective. Listening to students’ questions, expectations, and concerns provided valuable feedback on how the next generation views careers, sustainability, and innovation. Their strong interest in ethical production, environmental impact, and continuous learning signals a promising future for the industry.
Looking ahead
Our participation at the ITU Career Summit reaffirmed Pluskim’s commitment to supporting education, innovation, and long-term industry growth. Investing time in young professionals today means investing in stronger collaborations, better technologies, and more responsible solutions tomorrow.
As the summit reminded us all, the future truly is in their hands—and Pluskim is proud to be part of that journey.
